Power your future with Qualus in our Engineering department as a Lead Civil Structural Engineer. In this role, the candidate will design and detail mat and pier type foundations for substation structures. Additionally, the candidate will design substation structures ranging from simple equipment supports to overhead line towers.

All work will be performed with emphasis on quality and project costs following client's requirements and internal company's quality control and quality assurance practices. The candidate may also complete substation designs, as necessary. Work will include applying applicable codes and client standards to design general arrangements, equipment and electrical layouts, elevation views, grading and fence plans, foundation plan and details, substation rigid bus arrangements, structure details, and bills of material.

This position may be based in Lake Mary, FL; Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Las Vegas, NV, Boise, ID; Raleigh, NC; or Fort Worth, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Develop overall conceptual design plans in the initial development phase of new projects.
  • Work with renewable energy developers and other clients with support specific to schedules and cost estimates.
  • Design foundations using commercially available software such as LPILE.
  • Develop steel structure models for rigid bus and equipment supports.
