Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to technology development activities to enable next generation DRAM, working on device components such as charge storage devices and thin-film transistors, among others.
  • Optimize process flows and develop creative solutions to meet product requirements.
  • Engage numerous cross-functional teams including process development, product engineering, design, probe, and yield enhancement to arrive at solutions for performance and yield issues.
  • Design and run experiments in the R&D fab.
  • Analyze inline, parametric, and probe data to evaluate operating and failure mechanisms, sources of noise and variability, and to apply fundamental principles for optimization of device performance and reliability.
  • Summarize sophisticated problems, explain the actions necessary to address them, and drive the team to implement them.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a PhD candidate in Materials Science and Electrical Engineering preferred but PhD in physics and chemical engineering acceptable.
  • Must be a current student, and cannot graduate prior to September 2027

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in statistical data analysis using JMP or Python

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$167,000.00 – $293,000.00 a year

Additional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity.

This role provides opportunities to influence process architecture, conversion strategies, inline monitoring systems, and technology ramp execution while collaborating with global engineering teams across multiple sites.   • Establish baseline performance and continuously improve process capability through characterization, optimization, and conversion activities.
  • Develop process integration solutions that accelerate technology ramp and improve yield performance.
  • Collaborate with Process Engineers, Yield Engineers, RDA, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to resolve complex integration challenges.
  • Support NPI transfers and qualification activities through risk identification, process interaction assessments, and PITD documentation.
  • Define loop health indicators, monitoring plans, and scorecards to improve process visibility and proactive risk management.
  • Develop and deploy Best Known Methods (BKMs), business processes, and technical standards across manufacturing sites.
  • Apply advanced analytics, automation, and AI tools to improve process understanding, engineering efficiency, and decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • 5+ years of experience in one of the following areas: semiconductor process integration, process engineering, or technology development.
  • 5+ years of experience working with one of the following semiconductor manufacturing areas: yield improvement, defect reduction, failure analysis, or process optimization.
  • 5+ years of experience analyzing engineering, manufacturing, or process datasets and translating findings into technical solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience collaborating with multi-functional engineering, manufacturing, quality, or technology development teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • 7+ years of experience in semiconductor process integration supporting advanced technology development or high-volume manufacturing.
  • 7+ years of experience leading yield improvement initiatives, process conversions, or technology ramp activities.
  • Experience using Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, advanced analytics, or automation tools to improve engineering productivity and process performance.
  • Experience developing monitoring strategies, process control methodologies, BKMs, or technical standards across multiple manufacturing sites.
