Refrigeration EIT

Position Description

As a Refrigeration EIT, you will work on-site alongside senior engineers and project managers to design refrigeration systems for national retail clients, including grocery stores, convenience stores, and distribution warehouses. This role is based in our Boise, ID office. Day to day, you will perform load calculations, select system components, and produce construction documents, with projects typically cycling on a two-week turnaround. Early on, you will focus on one project at a time to build your process and confidence. Within roughly a year, you can expect to manage three to five projects simultaneously at different phases, with daily and weekly check-ins to share workload across the team.

Cushing Terrell’s refrigeration practice works with major national retail accounts, and this role gives you direct exposure to the full project lifecycle, from system architecture and equipment selection through permit submittal, RFI response, and bid support. You will sit with your team, with immediate access to ask questions, and you will get into the field periodically to see the systems you design in place. Occasional site travel is part of the role, averaging four to six trips per year during weekdays. We are seeking an EDA & PLM Systems Engineer to serve as the technical lead for Siemens Xpedition and Siemens Teamcenter platforms supporting build operations in Boise, Idaho. In this role, you will own system health, architecture, upgrades, and user engagement while partnering with engineering, IT/SRE teams, and software vendors to continuously improve critical engineering systems and workflows.

Responsibilities:

• Lead administration, configuration, support, and lifecycle management of Siemens Teamcenter and Siemens Xpedition environments

• Plan and implement software upgrades in partnership with IT/SRE and vendor teams, including migration planning, validation testing, risk assessment, and rollback strategies.

• Define and prioritize system enhancements, develop feature requests, and coordinate delivery with IT and vendor teams

• Develop and implement User Acceptance Testing (UAT), document results, and provide deployment recommendations

• Maintain system architecture documentation, operating procedures, and automation solutions that improve efficiency and reliability.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent demonstrated experience

• 3 to 7 years of experience with EDA tools, PLM administration, engineering systems, or related environments

• Hands-on production experience with Siemens Xpedition (xDX Designer, xPCB Layout, EDM Library/Server) and Siemens Teamcenter

• Experience developing technical requirements, feature requests, UAT plans, and software deployment documentation

• Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts across engineering, IT, management, and external vendor teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using Generative AI, LLMs, or AI assistants to improve engineering workflows, documentation, automation, testing, or scripting

• Python scripting experience for workflow automation, tool customization, or process improvement

• Experience with software governance, guiding organizational transitions, and enterprise application lifecycle management

• Familiarity with SolidWorks, MCAD/ECAD integrations, cloud infrastructure concepts, AWS environments, or IT/SRE operations

• Experience supporting semiconductor, hardware engineering, test engineering, or defense electronics environments

• Proven ability to analyze sophisticated technical problems using silicon data, validation results, circuit behavior, failure analysis, and statistical methods

• Experience leading technical investigations, root-cause analysis, and cross-functional resolution efforts

• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence technical decisions across engineering organizations

Preferred Qualifications:

• PhD or MS in a relevant engineering or scientific field

• Experience mentoring engineers, leading technical workstreams, or establishing engineering protocols

• Expertise in silicon debug, screen development, production test coverage, margin characterization, or product quality improvement

• AI proficiency with experience using approved AI-enabled tools for engineering analysis, user documentation, workflow automation, or knowledge management

• Experience working with Agentic AI tools to assist with design and verification
