Iconic Landmark Shifts: Nampa Water Tower Demolition Marks New Era

This new tank, designed at ground level with a 46-foot height and an 80-foot diameter, represents a substantial upgrade, foreseeing an impressive water storage capacity of 1.5 million gallons. The iconic Nampa water tower, a familiar landmark visible from I-84 and adjacent to the Centennial Golf Course, has played a significant role in the city's water infrastructure since its installation in the early 1970s. As it nears the end of its life cycle, the tower is set to undergo a transformative upgrade.

The original tower, a towering metal structure standing at over 100 feet, has faithfully held a half-million gallons of water over the years. However, recognizing the need for modernization and enhanced capacity, plans are in motion to replace the aging tower with a new, state-of-the-art concrete tank.
