Discovering Idaho

Moving to Idaho

Where to start if you’re thinking about a move: towns, jobs, homes and new communities, with a free PDF you can keep.

Start with a town

Open a city page first, then the jobs and homes tied to that city. Boise, Eagle, Meridian, Nampa, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho Falls, Twin Falls, McCall, Sandpoint and Pocatello are the pages people open most. Populations on those pages come from the original Treasure Idaho posts.

New communities

Valnova, in the Eagle foothills, is the largest master-planned community on the site. Valnova says it spans about 6,000 acres, is approved for up to 7,100 homes, and keeps more than half the land as open space. Homes there are listed from the $400s.

Jobs

Job posts marked “listed as hiring” carry that label from the job post itself. Pay shows when the post included it.

Safety

City pages show the FBI violent crime rate for the 21 Idaho cities with published numbers. For anything more, read the reports from the Idaho State Police and the police department in the town you’re considering.
