Position Summary
The Production Operator is responsible for operating machinery and equipment in their department to process logs into lumber and other wood products. This role requires attention to safety, efficiency, and quality control while performing various tasks and maintaining equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Comprehend and perform all duties in accordance with rules, regulations and JSAs.
- Follow safety protocols and report hazards to ensure a safe work environment.
- Learn the safe and efficient operation of each machine assigned.
- Understand and actively apply yourself in the operator work-up program to advance through training and experience.
- Serve as a relief operator for a wide variety of functions, machinery and workstations.
- Keep work area clean and organized and clean all additional areas as assigned.
- Maintain acceptable production levels.
- Duties vary by location.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to work various shifts, days, and overtime as needed.
- Capable of following instructions and communicating effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
