COEUR D'ALENE — Mountain West Bank is opening its newly renovated headquarters and newest branch at 608 Northwest Boulevard in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, bringing about 125 employees together in one building near downtown. The Coeur d'Alene Press reported the Mountain West Bank headquarters opening on Nov. 8, 2026, after bank president and CEO Scott Anderson walked through the finished building Friday.

The four-story, roughly 44,000-square-foot building is the former Coeur d'Alene home of The Spokesman-Review. Mountain West Bank bought it in 2024 for about $9.5 million, The Spokesman-Review reported at the time, and the renovation took 14 months.

What's inside the new Mountain West Bank headquarters

The new headquarters brings together teams that had been spread across two buildings and several suites on Ironwood Drive. Commercial banking, mortgage, treasury management, operations and other departments now work under one roof, and the building also has a branch for customers. According to the bank, the building will feature work by Idaho artists and photographers.

Architects West designed the project and Young Construction led construction, with local firms, partners and tradespeople contributing to the renovation, the Coeur d'Alene Press reported.

"Mountain West Bank started in Coeur d'Alene in 1993, and this is where we intend to stay," Anderson said in the bank's announcement. "This building brings our people together, creates another welcoming place to serve our customers, and keeps our headquarters in the heart of the community that built this bank."

Ironwood Drive branch stays open

The bank's Ironwood Drive branch will remain open and keep serving customers as part of its local branch network. When the purchase was first announced in 2024, Anderson told The Spokesman-Review the bank chose an existing building in a good location with plenty of parking instead of taking on a large new construction project.
