A new Costco Wholesale location in South Meridian is one step closer to breaking ground after the company filed permits with the City of Meridian.
The proposed 200,342-square-foot warehouse, set for the corner of Lake Hazel Rd. and Meridian Rd., will include a fuel station with 16 pumps, a distribution center, and a Market Delivery Operations (MDO) facility for large-item home deliveries. Unlike Costco’s Business Center format, this location will follow the traditional warehouse model.
The store’s parking lot will feature 903 spaces, with five entry and exit points:
Two on Lake Hazel Rd.
Two on Spire St.
One on Meridian Rd.
Costco is also requesting a reduction in required bike parking, asking for 20 spaces instead of the city-mandated 36, citing low bicycle traffic to its stores.

Costco will serve as the anchor tenant for Brighton’s Apex Zenith, a commercial hub within the larger Pinnacle neighborhood. Plans for the remaining lots include seven commercial spaces ranging from 41,000 to 95,000 square feet.
The area around Meridian Rd. and Lake Hazel Rd. continues to expand as Meridian and Kuna grow closer. Nearby developments include:
A planned WinCo at Columbia Rd. and Meridian Rd.
Hawkins Companies’ proposed 55-acre mixed-use project at Meridian Rd. and Amity Rd.
Once completed, this will be the fourth Costco in the Treasure Valley, joining locations in Nampa, North Meridian, and Boise.
