Goddard School Breaks Ground on Early Childhood Center in Post Falls

Goddard School broke ground on a ~12,000 sq ft early childhood center on Fennecus Road in Post Falls (ages 6 weeks–6 years, ~150 kids). Young Construction is building; ribbon cutting planned for spring 2027. POST FALLS — A new Goddard School early childhood education center is taking shape on Fennecus Road after a recent groundbreaking, according to coverage published September 10, 2026 by the Coeur d’Alene Press.

Owners Sara and Chris Carson, who grew up in the area and recently moved back to North Idaho, decided to bring the national brand here after enrolling one of their children in a Goddard School in Baltimore. They said long waitlists at many local childcare providers and a shortage of options with a strong early-education focus pushed them to act. “That’s really what I think early education should be about,” Sara Carson said of teaching children how to think, not what to think.

She added that Goddard’s approach gives kids tools to ask questions and learn while having fun. Young Construction is building the Post Falls campus. Plans call for about 12,000 square feet serving roughly 150 children ages 6 weeks to 6 years, with age-based classrooms, developmentally appropriate materials, teacher-to-student ratios below Idaho state requirements, and consistent staffing.
