Star is experiencing significant growth, and a new large-scale development is on the horizon that will include retail options.

The Inspirado development, which covers approximately 124 acres, was annexed into the City of Star in phases from 2022 to 2023. It will feature 195 single-family homes with lot sizes ranging from 5,500 to 16,871 square feet, alongside around 48 acres designated for commercial and retail space. The project is strategically located at the corner of Star Rd. and Chinden Blvd., with Tony Tseng as the developer.

With the residential aspect of Inspirado progressing, TOK Brokerage Agent Brianna Miller has stated that efforts are now focused on attracting anchor retail tenants. The mixed-use zoning of the property allows for a variety of potential retail establishments, though the immediate priority is to secure a grocery store for the site. “The first focus is trying to grab retail, and we’ve got room for big box stores,” Miller explained.

In addition to a grocery store, Miller mentioned that they are looking to bring in a “service anchor,” such as a home improvement store or a fitness center.

Star is projected to experience a 45% growth rate over the next three years, a trend that prompted the creation of Inspirado. Miller emphasized that the area’s demographics and exponential growth indicated a clear need for this development at this time.

Currently, no retail tenants have been signed for the development.
