As construction progresses on the Park at Expo Idaho, a vision for a biodiverse urban oasis is coming to life. Located against the backdrop of the Boise foothills, the project has already made major strides just three months in.
Known as “The Ridges,” this section is designed to frame the park’s perimeter, offering visitors breathtaking elevated views and acting as a gateway to Ada County’s Expo Idaho Fairgrounds. The construction team is utilizing soil excavated from a 17-acre restored floodplain to craft these features, ensuring a sustainable approach to earthwork that prioritizes environmental responsibility.
Over the past month, essential infrastructure has been put in place, including pressurized sewer lines, irrigation pipes, and electrical conduits. Foundations have been laid for the park’s pavilion, which will soon come to life as concrete is poured. Furthermore, the area poised to host a bustling food truck plaza is making progress, signaling the park’s commitment to community-centric spaces.

Looking ahead, summer will see additional developments as work intensifies on the park’s wetland, skate park, and playground areas. The intricate process of designing a park of this magnitude involves integrating topsoil and native trees and plants, creating a natural habitat that fosters biodiversity.
Updates on this project will continue to be shared monthly, providing the community with ongoing insights into what is set to be a once-in-a-generation park, slated for completion in late 2026. This construction endeavor, managed by CM Company and brought to life through the design prowess of Port, has received vital funding from the American Rescue Plan Act.
Keep an eye on the progress as the Park at Expo Idaho transitions from conception to a vibrant community hub.
