Move over, Albertsons, Emmett finally has a NEW grocery option, and the town showed up in full force to prove it.
The long-awaited Grocery Outlet in Emmett officially opened its doors this morning, drawing an excited crowd eager for a new grocery shopping alternative in the community. Located at 2175 S. Sub Station Road, the store celebrated its grand opening with fanfare, giveaways, and a warm welcome from owners Richard and Danna Carranza.
By 7:15 a.m., 45 minutes before opening, the parking lot was already buzzing. I rolled up as about the 40th person in line, but within half an hour, the crowd ballooned past 120 deep. Why the early rush? The first 100 shoppers scored Bliss Buck gift cards (ranging from $5 to $500), and Banducci Coffee was handing out steaming cups to keep the crowd warm.

Emmett’s been hungry for another grocery option, and Grocery Outlet delivered. Shoppers were raving about the organic selection, gluten-free finds, and prices that felt like a throwback to pre-inflation times.
Owners Richard and Danna Carranza greeted every guest like old friends, while cashiers and stockers kept the energy high. The cheerful atmosphere was amplified by employees who welcomed guests with smiles and enthusiasm.
And the $500 winner? I spotted them on my way out—grinning like they’d just won the lottery (and in a way, they had).
With Albertsons being the only major grocery store in town, residents have long awaited another affordable option. Grocery Outlet delivers just that, offering deep discounts on brand-name groceries, organic products, and specialty items, all at prices that will give Albertsons a run for its money.
The celebration isn’t over yet! Tomorrow (Saturday, April 25), 101.9 The Bull will host a live radio event featuring DJs Kevin & Brenda Mee from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Expect live music, fun games, and great prizes—making it the perfect weekend outing for families. View Event Details
