The team focuses on material quality, risk reduction, and continuous improvement to enable successful technology ramps and sustainable manufacturing performance. We collaborate closely with engineering, quality, procurement, and operations partners around the world.

Position Overview

As an OCT MTE Material Engineering Staff/Principal Engineer, you will contribute to material quality, filtration strategy, and value‑engineering efforts across multiple sites. In this role, you will help shape global material strategies, strengthen risk controls, and share guidelines that improve safety, quality, speed, and cost. The team drives supplier quality strategy, qualification, risk mitigation, supplier development, and continuous improvement while leveraging advanced analytics, digital tools, and AI-enabled solutions to improve quality performance and accelerate decision-making worldwide.

The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for leading material quality readiness, supplier qualification, risk assessment, supplier development, and quality performance management across both development and production environments. This role collaborates with global cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure supplier capability, material readiness, specification compliance, issue resolution, and continuous improvement through data-driven and AI-enabled quality processes.

As a Fab Support Tool Installation Qualification (TIQ) Equipment Engineer specializing in abatement and vacuum systems, you will help ensure our equipment operates reliably and safely. You will support equipment install, de-install, safety testing, and release coordination for pump/abatement/vacuum equipment while partnering closely with tool owners and stakeholders to drive equipment release readiness. Responsibilities:

• Support pump and abatement vacuum systems, heat trace applications and facilities utility interface for equipment install, de-install, and safety testing.

• Partner closely with tool owners, facilities, trades, movers, suppliers, field service engineers, and pump, abatement, chillers (PAC) collaborators to drive equipment release readiness.

• Build and maintain safety testing schedules aligned to construction achievements and project readiness dates.

• Plan and coordinate equipment installs and de-installs, including isolation, disconnect, removal, relocation, disposition, and facility handoffs.

• Validate safety testing conditions, pinpoint readiness shortfalls, manage interlock testing, and lead resolution with representatives from various functions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering; equivalent military experience; or an AAS accompanied by over 2 years of industry experience.

• Over 2 years of experience in semiconductor equipment setup, removal, facilities coordination, safety testing, or preparing equipment for use.

• Demonstrated understanding of systems integration, utility connectivity and operational readiness across the equipment lifecycle.

• Experience coordinating equipment installs, de-installs, tool moves, safety release activities, interlock testing, and preparation for construction achievement readiness.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Equipment Facilitation Forms (EFF), Tool Move Qualification (TMQ) process, PAC turnover documentation, and site safety release requirements.

• Ability to efficiently organize multi-functional teams to complete projects and solve an array of equipment problems.

• Strong problem-solving, schedule management, collaborator coordination, and documentation control skills.

• AI proficiency or experience using AI-enabled ways of working where applicable to improve efficiency, documentation, coordination, decision-making, and continuous improvement, supporting Micron’s AI transformation.

The Process Engineering team develops, optimizes, and sustains manufacturing processes that enable high-quality, reliable, and cost-effective semiconductor products. The team partners closely with manufacturing, equipment, quality, and supplier organizations to drive continuous improvement, reduce operational risk, and support new product introductions across production sites.As a Process Engineer, you will support the startup, development, optimization, and continuous improvement of semiconductor assembly manufacturing processes. This role is responsible for identifying and resolving process-related issues, improving yield and productivity, supporting product qualifications, and enhancing manufacturing efficiency. Success in this position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective multi-functional collaboration, and the ability to leverage AI-Enabled tools and data-driven approaches to improve operational performance.

Responsibilities

• Identify, diagnose, and resolve assembly process issues using structured problem-solving methodologies such as failure analysis, FMEA, 8D, SPC/FDC, and statistical analysis techniques.
• Coordinate and execute process, equipment, and material evaluations; implement and validate process changes that improve quality, yield, reliability, and productivity.
• Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield enhancement, cost reduction, manufacturing efficiency, and risk mitigation.
• Validate and deploy qualified process baselines, including new processes, materials, and equipment, to support new product introductions and site-to-site portability.
• Leverage AI-Enabled tools, AI-Assisted analytics, and manufacturing data to support process monitoring, root cause analysis, decision-making, and continuous improvement activities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 0 to 2 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, process engineering, assembly operations, or a related high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience applying structured problem-solving methodologies, including FMEA, 8D, failure analysis, SPC, or statistical data analysis.
• Experience supporting process qualification, yield improvement, process optimization, or cost reduction initiatives.
• Proficiency with data analytics tools and AI-Enabled ways of working to support engineering and operational decision-making.
