Franklin is a city in Franklin County in southeast Idaho near the Utah border. Founded in 1860, it is widely noted as Idaho’s first permanent European American settlement. The town sits in Cache Valley farm country along U.S. Highway 91 between Preston and the state line. Agriculture and small town services remain central to the community.
