The Texas-based DF Development, led by the Wilks brothers, is preparing to resubmit plans for the Red Ridge Village, a proposed development aimed at building more than 1,000 homes near McCall, Idaho. This comes after the initial proposal faced significant public criticism and was withdrawn in December.

Original Proposal and Key Features

The original plan for Red Ridge Village encompassed nearly 2,250 acres and included a variety of features, such as 1,130 residential units, retail spaces, and recreational facilities. The concept proposed a vibrant village center with a farm-to-table restaurant, an outdoor plaza, and mixed-use areas aimed at creating a cohesive community atmosphere. Tthe plan highlighted the incorporation of a vineyard, a boutique winery, and an amphitheater with a capacity of 2,000.

Resubmission of Plans

The team plans to resubmit the conceptual plans for Red Ridge Village “in the upcoming weeks” and will begin the application process for the first phase of development. This process will involve public hearings before the Valley County Planning and Zoning Commission.

Community Engagement Efforts

Recently, DF Development representatives, including Richman, held two open house meetings at the McCall Public Library to gather community feedback on the Red Ridge proposal. “The DF team is currently processing and evaluating the feedback we received during the two open houses,” she stated. However, it remains unclear how the public comments received will factor into the revised concept plan to be submitted.

The development team seeks to navigate the regulatory landscape while balancing community concerns with the project’s ambitious goals.
