Eagle, ID – A new chapter in community development is underway in Eagle, Idaho, as the Valnova project begins to take shape in the foothills, representing a bold 30-year vision. With the recent installation of its gateway signage, the development is set to transform the landscape, promising a vibrant community of 7,000 homes spanning 6,000 acres.
Valnova is a GWC Capital project, part of Clyde Companies, aimed at serving the internal needs of Clyde Companies’ vertical construction customers while facilitating responsible development.
At the core of Valnova’s growth is a substantial investment in crucial infrastructure, including the construction of a self-contained sewer treatment system. This essential facility will support the needs of the developing community while generating reclaimed water for irrigation, thereby reducing reliance on culinary water.
Valnova’s team is also working on improving access to the area by widening Highway 16. This project includes the addition of dedicated on-ramps, off-ramps, turning lanes, and acceleration lanes. Valnova leaders emphasize that prioritizing safety and convenience is vital for both residents and the broader community.
“The upgrades to Highway 16 reflect our commitment to providing safe, efficient access for everyone,” stated a Valnova spokesperson.
Emphasizing a harmonious integration with the natural landscape, Valnova is designed to retain and celebrate topographical features, wildlife habitats, and visually appealing areas. More than 75% of the residences are expected to be adjacent to parks, open spaces, and recreational areas, encouraging an active outdoor lifestyle. Over 50% of Valnova’s land—nearly 3,000 acres—is planned to remain in its natural state or be developed into recreational amenities for community enjoyment.
The Glencara Greenway will serve as a central feature of the Valnova community, part of the Eagle City Foothills Regional Trail System. This linear park will include native plantings and multiple access points for residents to connect with community centers, neighborhood parks, and surrounding trails. In addition to enhancing recreational opportunities, the Greenway will play a critical role in managing drainage and stormwater.
The Community Park and Club is anticipated to be the heart of recreational activities within Valnova. This central facility will feature dining options, a clubhouse, pools, spas, and courts for pickleball and tennis, all situated near Valnova Lake. The first phase of the Community Park is slated for completion in late 2025.
In the Village Center, shops and restaurants will line vibrant streets designed for pedestrian enjoyment, featuring wide sidewalks and comfortable seating. Planned facilities for the Village Center include picnic areas, an amphitheater, and seasonal activities, such as ice skating and tubing.
Valnova’s residential neighborhoods will draw on traditional community planning principles, offering a mix of lot sizes and housing types to cater to a variety of lifestyles. This includes single-family homes, townhouses, and multifamily residences, with convenient access to commercial shops, businesses, daycare facilities, schools, and churches.
The project will be brought to life by a roster of prestigious custom home builders, including Bachman Custom Homes, Berkeley Building Co., Biltmore Co., Brookstone Custom Homes, Core Building Company, Hallmark Homes, Hammett Homes, Highland Homes, Integrity Homes & Design, Paradigm Construction Company, Serenity Homes, Shea Homes, Solitude Homes, and Tresidio Homes.
As Valnova embarks on its ambitious 30-year vision, the development promises to blend modern amenities with the natural beauty of Eagle’s foothills, aiming to create a thriving community for current and future residents alike.
