Filer is a Twin Falls County city west of Twin Falls in the Magic Valley. The community grew with Twin Falls Canal Company irrigation and still mixes residential neighborhoods with surrounding farms and dairies. Residents stay close to Twin Falls shopping and medical care while keeping a smaller-town pace along U.S. Highway 30. Snake River Canyon recreation and Magic Valley employment centers are a short drive from town.
