Job Description
Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator to work on our MFC Maintenance team. Our team works a 4×10 schedule located out of our Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) with every Friday off. You will operate mobile heavy equipment and machinery such as road grader, bulldozer, loaders, trackhoe/backhoe, paddle scrapper, mobile canes, semi-trucks, tractor-trailer combinations, tanker trucks, and forklifts.
Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities
- Operate equipment related to maintenance and repair of roads, grounds, and landfill, construction, and maintenance of facilities, and in support of programs and projects to enable science.
- Operate hoisting and rigging equipment and perform rigging tackle inspections per DOE STD 1090.
- Operate overhead cranes and mobile cranes. Perform load testing of mobile cranes.
- Operate and transport equipment and loads to fulfill INL mission and objectives.
- Build knowledge, perform tasks under OJT instruction, and qualify for tasks for completion of individual job code in the work discipline.
- Read and interpret drawings and sketches proficiently. Review scope with customers to help define job requirements, offer recommendations for improving product outcome. Provide status on jobs in progress to project managers and management. Resolve problems and ensure customer satisfaction.
