Ada County Renames W Aerie Drive to W Valnova Drive in Eagle

Eagle, Idaho

Eagle, ID – Ada County Commissioners voted to approve renaming W. Aerie Drive to W. Valnova Drive, effective September 30, 2025. Commissioners held a public hearing on September 22, 2025, before approving the change.

According to Valnova, W. Valnova Drive applies to the stretch of roadway from Highway 16 continuing east to the third (easternmost) roundabout within the Valnova development. The rename is meant to identify the community from the main Highway 16 access and to make navigation easier for emergency responders, service providers, residents, and visitors.

Nick Weaver, Valnova General Manager, thanked Ada County Commission, the Ada County Assessor’s Office, the City of Eagle, and emergency services partners, especially Eagle Fire District, for support and coordination.

Residents and mapping platforms were expected to see updates as jurisdictions implement the change and update road signage in the weeks after the effective date.

Hotelify Your House

The first thing I tell my clients is to hotelify their house. As a rule of thumb, remove about 50% of your possessions. Your garage is usually the dump zone unless the garage itself is a selling point. If you have a high-end organization system or a standout workbench, rent a storage unit instead. It is worth it.

Declutter and remove items you do not use regularly, including clothes. Go through closets so they feel spacious. Depersonalize by taking down family photos. A simple trick: buy collage inserts on Etsy, print them at Walgreens, and slide them over your family photos so you can restore the wall later.

Keep trinkets and decor to only two or three items per surface. Leave artwork only where it is a focal point or fills a blank wall. If decluttering feels overwhelming, ask your realtor for help or hire a professional organizer.

Furniture and Sight Lines

If furniture is too large for the space, remove the excess. Your goal is open sight lines so a photographer can capture the room and buyers can picture their own things there. Pull sofas at least four to six inches off the wall. That little bit of depth makes rooms look larger.

Clean, Touch Up, and Neutralize

After decluttering, fill holes, repair texture if needed, and touch up paint on walls and baseboards. Wipe walls before touch-up painting. If you have wild or dark colors, neutralize them with light wall colors. Buyers love fresh, neutral paint.

If you have pets, deep clean first, then keep after it. Invite a trusted friend over for a nose test. We go nose-blind to our own homes. Baking soda and ozone machines can help. Skip heavy plug-ins and sprays that make buyers wonder what you are covering up.

  • Clean carpets, and stretch them if they have wrinkles or waves
  • Wash windows so buyers see a crisp view
  • Dust light fixtures and knock down cobwebs
  • Clear counters and wipe appliances
  • Touch up peeling caulk at tubs and backsplashes
  • Replace burned-out or dim bulbs with brighter warm bulbs

Finishing Touches Inside

Use neutral, high-quality bedding and add a few accent pillows. Buy simple white towels and shower mats for bathrooms and save them for showings. Add small plants, real or faux, for color and texture. Set the dining table with a simple centerpiece.

Outside Curb Appeal

Remove yard debris, leaves, weeds, and empty pots. Tidy patio spaces and clear raised beds of dead plants. Touch up peeling paint or stain on siding and trim. Sweep walkways, keep grass mowed, and have moss removed from the roof if needed.

Stage the front entry with a wreath, a fresh welcome mat, and a few potted plants. Replace tired porch lights (Costco is usually stocked), clear cobwebs, and consider upgrading house numbers for a stronger first impression.
