Shoshone-Bannock Opens New $1.26M Fish and Wildlife Building in Fort Hall

Fort Hall, Idaho

FORT HALL — The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes’ Fish and Wildlife department has opened a new $1.26 million headquarters on Shoshone Drive, just east of the old Fish and Wildlife Building, according to coverage published September 8, 2026 by the Idaho State Journal.

The new facility gives the department expanded administrative offices for its programs, wildlife biologists, and hatchery staff, plus a reception area, conference room, garage, and a shop with an adjoining mudroom. Tribal big game hunters were invited in August to buy tags at the new location as the move began.

Lytle Denny, deputy executive director of the Natural Resources division, said the right facilities help staff work more efficiently and support the department’s work protecting and managing natural resources across the Fort Hall Reservation.

Construction started in August 2025. Steel Design of Idaho Falls was the contractor. Funding came through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). A formal grand opening ceremony is planned; the date has not been announced yet.

For people watching civic and natural-resource projects across Idaho, Fort Hall’s new Fish and Wildlife building is a concrete East Idaho investment — offices and shop space sized for the teams that manage wildlife on the reservation.
